Hey all! I know it has been FOREVER since I've posted a blog. Our summer was jam packed and our October consisted of 2 weddings, about 10 portrait sessions, buying a new house, moving and getting engaged!!!, plus our normal full time jobs! Needless to say we've been a little busy, but I promise I will try to pick up the slack and try to post at least 1 blog a week!
I want to start by giving a little behind the scenes about our sessions: Wes and I are a photography duo at most portrait sessions, he sometimes shoots while I assist and vice versa. Sometimes it is just one of us if the other is booked that day, but we work best together (clearly or we wouldn't be getting married haha). For weddings, however, Wes follows around the guys getting ready and I follow around the girls. We feel this works best so the girls feel comfortable putting their dress on in front of me and the guys feel comfortable shooting the sh** with Wes around instead of having to be "proper" if a lady is in the room ;)
Now onto our main blog...........This week we have the joy of featuring our newest bride and groom: Clara & Logan!
I met with Clara a few weeks prior to their engagement shoot and she came prepared with a bridal binder full of questions to ask me. That's when I knew we would be the perfect match! For those of you who don't know me - I'm made fun of constantly for being the planner of our friends and family, so when Clara pulled out that binder I was certain we would work amazingly together.
Clara & Logan are two of the most charismatic people you will ever meet. They met while volunteering at the City Mission here in Findlay...how cool of a story is that!? A special request Clara had was to get a picture taken at the City Mission. It currently is under construction, so we made due with the sign in the alleyway!
Clara and Logan were seriously CHAMPIONS during our session. They climbed trees, had leaves thrown on them by Wes (he might have enjoyed that a little too much) and pretty much did anything I asked of them. For real---they deserve a medal and I can't WAIT to make them do all kinds of crazy things for their wedding...just kidding you two...or am I? ;)
Luckily, the future Mr. & Mrs. had a good sense of humor which contained a plethora of pirate jokes. This was after Logan told us the pirate birthday joke.....I won't ruin it for those who don't know it, you know just in case Logan wants to use it in his vows! Thankfully I didn't get the joke until about 10 seconds after Clara laughed, because I was crying I was laughing so hard and would have missed this adorable shot.
Then there's this shot.....which was totally Clara's idea and it was way too fun!
Seriously, how adorable are they?
Not to mention both of them have STUNNING eyes! Don't they look like models here? Clara even got lucky and had that natural wind-blown hair look everyone wants....so jealous!
Oh and if you ever need numbers to hang from trees--Logan is your guy! The wind kept trying to stop this shot, but they nailed it.
Thanks again, Clara & Logan, for putting up with all of our crazy requests and shenanigans! Clara, you will make an absolutely gorgeous bride for Logan. You two complement each other perfectly and fill the air with love when you're together! We had an absolute BLAST with you both and CANNOT wait until your wedding day! Be sure to check out a few more previews from their engagement shoot on our Facebook Page and be sure to give us a "like" while you're there :)
Now it is only appropriate to end with a few jokes:
What did the pirate say when his leg got stuck in the freezer?
SHIVER ME TIMBERS!
I know this is going to be one of Wes' personal favorites since he calls the Findlay seagulls "rivergulls".....
Why do seagulls fly over the sea?
Because if they flew over the bay they would be bagels!
